SHADOW PLAY

Weightless but temporal,

Another bright dawn breaks,

Stray little astronaut,

Leaves the dry earth to bake,

A long way gone, a long way gone

My body's a pedestal,

It's not a prison gate,

I can't say why,

We play at the boundary edge,

Our careless little games

A long way gone,

My head so twisted

A short walk home,

Still we went missing,

Are you sold on the shadow play?

Training the madrigals,

To sing your name out loud,

Took a cacophony of voices,

To demand my prayers

A long way gone,

My head so twisted

A short walk home,

Still we went missing.

You lead the way,

With your night vision

A short walk home,

Still we went missing

Are you sold?

Last Days at the Farm

Gunshots in winter,

Dead birds in the spring,

My memory's playing,

more cruel tricks on me.

Cat calls for voices,

Cat guts for strings,

we're pulling our hair out,

Over everything.

I'll take all the best parts,

still something priceless in these rooms,

The last days at the Farm,

Spent stripping diamonds from the walls.

The mornings made sacred,

When the night time was cursed,

My memories painting,

Different portraits to her.

Maybe a palace,

Maybe a slum,

But I've known something happen,

To just about everyone.

Handmade the priceless songs,

Hang like paintings in these rooms,

The last days at the farm,

Still hearing music through the walls.

Talking to MH

She never towed the line,

She said it wasn't drawn straight,

I believe her still,

Took me at my word,

Taught me how to operate,

Being ten feet tall.

I knew her as a friend,

Lightning quick,

She left my hair on end,

I'm not so cold,

That I can't tell,

You're braver than you know.

She said you'll get a bloody nose,

Hanging out the crows nest,

With horizons everywhere,

Just take a little time,

Then take your next best step,

You're braver than you know.

I knew her as a friend,

Lightning quick,

She left my hair on end,

Well, I'm not so cold,

That i can't tell,

You're braver than you know.
